Five stages, one chain
A client can take any one of them, or the whole sequence from the first hazard review to the signed handover certificate.

Fire Safety Concept & Strategy
What the facility contains, what can go wrong, and the protection philosophy that follows. Hazard identification, design basis, the definition of what is being protected and to what performance. This is the document every later decision is measured against — and the cheapest place to be right.

Engineering Analysis
Where the physics is done rather than asserted.

Design & Documentation
FEED, basic and detailed design of detection and alarm, suppression, fire water supply and distribution, and passive protection — with interface management across process, electrical, instrumentation, civil and structural. Documentation to the level the jurisdiction and the client’s review process require, not to a house template.

Owner’s Engineer
Standing in front of the EPC contractor on the client’s side: scope definition, technical requirements for tender, evaluation of what is offered against what was specified, interface and change control, design review of licensor packages, and supervision on site. The role exists because compliance by each party separately does not add up to a protected facility.

Technical Assurance & Commissioning
Technical bid evaluation, factory acceptance testing, pre-commissioning, integrated system testing across detection, suppression, shutdown and alarm, witnessing by the authority where required, handover and operator training. We evaluate and verify equipment; we do not supply it.
Earlier is cheaper. The most expensive engagements we see begin when a design is already in front of an authority and does not pass.
